There was never any more inception than there is now,
Nor any more youth or age than there is now,
And will never be any more perfection than there is now,
Nor any more heaven or hell than there is now.

Urge and urge and urge,
Always the procreant urge of the world.

Map of Burlington routes in 1892.  Please note what scholars call the “Galesburg clusterfuck” in western IL there.  It’s now all part of the Burlington Northern-Santa Fe railroad, which still has its second largest yard in Galesburg and is the largest employer there, right in front of the hospitals and city government.
So!  I’ve learned that I still need to forget all the random crap I know about Galesburg.

US railroad in 1860.  Too early for the Intercontinental, but might be part of it.  Either way, don’t look down.
